Domestic violence is when somebody hurts and bullies someone in their family, or someone they are living with, dating or married to.

Domestic violence can include lots of different things. It can be physical, emotional, financial or sexual. It can happen to anyone, of any age, ethnic group or religion and it can happen to men as well as women.

Domestic violence can hurt children and young people too. Seeing or hearing somebody in your family hurt someone else can make you feel very scared.

Domestic violence is never ok and it is never your fault. You have the right to a life free from abuse.
